Kealia is on the north Kona coast of the Big Island, just twenty miles south of Kailua-Kona. This is the outdoors recreational center of the island, with opportunities for swimming, surfing, snorkeling, fishing, hiking, biking and golf all within close proximity. Along the country roads outside of Kealia, you will find shops offering the best organically grown fruits and vegetables, Kona coffee and macadamia nuts. The village of Kealia has stores with all the necessities, and Kailua Town with its fine shops and restaurants, museums, theater and more is just a short drive away. One of the main attractions in the area is the Kealia Ranch, which offers tours through the forests where you will see native vegetation and trees, coffee plants, mango, papaya, bamboo and Kukui nut trees. The historical country store on the property was once a cowboy office, but now houses local crafts and provisions. In Kealia, you area also just minutes from the Hookena Beach State Park, the historical Place of Refuge National Park and the Captain Cook Monument.
